Week Two of Top Ten ways to Transform your Health

Lean Protein! What is the recommended amount of protein that an adult should have? This is a question that I have received from former clients, and it is a really important one.

The daily recommended amount for an adult is 1/2 gram of protein for every pound. That means for a woman weighing 120 pounds needs 60 grams of protein every day.

After the age of 40 it is important to have a diet that includes at a minimum that 1/2 gram protein for every pound of body weight as muscle mass will begin to decline, and this is when we start to see that midlife extra weight to show up. In women we also have the normal weight gain from menopause and the hormone changes.

Because of this becomes very important to eat our lean protein, and if we are working on making a transformation to combat the natural occurrence of muscle mass decline and added weight gain from fat Having protein will help.

How, you may ask? Protein will help to restore and build muscle, think of this as an anti-aging nutrient.

Weight training can add to the fat burning along with diet of high protein . This is a good way for women 40 and up to help make that transformation.
